What’s your story? Let’s talk about it. I am here to listen.
Enter a space where we care for your mental health and breaking the surrounding stigmas. Let us silence fears and the voices causing you to stay silent.
Anxious, low vibration, misfit, lonely, black sheep, unworthy … do any of these words apply to you?
Hi. My name is Angelique. I am a mental health advocate and the founder of T.A.I Nation.
Thank you for choosing to click on my website.
This is my story…
I have battled and overcome addictions, emotional abuse, cutting, an eating disorder and abandonment issues. I too know what it feels like to be in a room filled with people yet feel alone. To be misunderstood. Knowing that you are loved but for some reason not seen or heard. My mother died when I was 3 and then my father when I was 11. I am from an upper middle class family where mental issues were deemed as taboo and therefore not faced or dealt with, hence I suffered in silence. I learned from a young age to internalize because even though people were there, there was no space to speak. Eventually my compounded trauma manifested in my late twenties and I was diagnosed with clinical depression and anxiety.
Family and friends thought I was strong, however, I was emotionally exhausted and losing my will to fight… and live. As my depression deepened I started believing that my pain would never end, no one would miss me, it would be simpler if I was no longer here; so I became suicidal.
Fortunately, through therapy I learnt multiple coping mechanisms and faced my fears. The healing began and I started to experience real hope.
My journey led me to realize purpose in helping others through my real-life experiences.
My approach is as an empath not theory oriented. I am someone who through compassion is understanding, listens without judgement, and even if I haven’t been on your path, I can usually relate to it.
I am a listener, not a therapist- and sometimes that is exactly what someone needs.
A genuine ear, a kind voice, and a reminder that they are not alone in what they are facing.
My work is rooted in empathy, community, and the belief that every individual deserves to be valued.
As a compassionate mental health enthusiast and advocate, my mission is to create spaces where open, honest conversations are not only welcomed- but normalized.
DISCLAIMER: My approach is empathic / experience oriented, not theory oriented. I am not a psychotherapist and my services should not serve as a replacement for therapy sessions.
